Training has empowered me to forget petty things like trying to “slim” my thighs and chisel my abs.
It has released me from the bonds of size + weight and good food + bad food.
I stopped caring about what I should lose and focused instead on what I could gain.
I started focusing in on other things like my movement patterns, technique, strength + speed gains + what kind of foods serve me and make me feel like a rock star.
Baby Gurl if/when you and I train together you are going to have to get used to the fact that I find you absolutely beautiful JUST THE WAY YOU ARE. You will need to learn to feel comfortable and confident in the skin you’re in.
Because, if you don’t love yourself entirely, spots and all, in the beginning. Guess what? When we get to the end of our training + you have your “banging hot” body you will still see the imperfections. To change the way you feel about yourself, you need to change the way you feel about yourself. Understand?
The biggest transformation I desire for my clients is NOT that they loose X amount of weight or X amount of inches, but that they love and cherish their bodies. They are gentle and kind and consistent with their bodies. They know what feels good and what feels bad. They know how to listen to their bodies and give them exactly what it needs, be it rest, a good workout, deliciously nourishing food or a piece of chocolate.
